The city established in 1591 by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah on the banks of river Musi. Hyderabad has seen its rulers change from ancient Hindu kingdoms followed by Mughals and then by the British. All these different influences are best manifested in city’s historic and heritage buildings. These buildings showcase a mixture of Indo-Islamic architecture and European styles.

1990s saw the emergence of large pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in Hyderabad. This has led to the city having another name as the “Genome Valley of India”. It also has a thriving Information technology business environment with many of the global giants like Microsoft and Google having their offshore development centers in the city.

Salarjung Musuem and the Nizam’s musuem are places that are always worth a visit. Both these musuems has a lot of special items like sculptures made of bronze and wood,miniature paintings, few historic manuscripts, a room of jade etc.

The largest film studio complex in the world, Ramoji Film City, is in Hyderabad.

Laad bazaar located in Charminar area is another famous tourist spot where one find exquisite dress material, pearls and all.
