ADHD treatment in India – Ayurvedic approach
Ayurveda treatments have known to have provided good relief to patients and improving their communication and social skills. The basic tenet of Ayurvedic treatment is that each person has three doshas or components in the body constitution. These are called Vata (which is a combination of air and space elements), Pitta (combination of fire and water elements) and Kapha (earth and water elements). Any imbalance in the proportion of these doshas result in diseases.
Ayurveda views this as a vata imbalance disorder. People with a high vata constitution typically show a high level of intensity in dealing with things. ADHD treatment in India (Ayurveda) is around pacifying the vata imbalance and stimulating the power of learning, retention and recall.
Treatments include Massage, Sirodhara (pouring medicated oil over head) and Siropichu (keeping oil plug over head). Ingestion of ghee is also a key part of the Ayurvedic ADHD treatment in India as medicated ghee is known to stimulate the learning, retention and recall. Yoga sessions also help children greatly especially in calming the senses and in enforcing discipline.
